What Kind of Anchor Do I Need for Brick? (I tested 5)

For example you don't need an anchor that'll pull over 1000 pounds to hang up something small! Or you wouldn't want to use an anchor that can only hold 75 pounds to hang up something heav...

Some Quick Tricks and Tips if You Have Flickering Lights! [As well as an actual problem]
my connectors are rusty and the ground 1 just pulled off, maybe the prblem?problem?? any thoughts
HI, yes if your wires are pulling loose that's a bad sign, but without seeing it I can't be sure of anything. If you have a volt meter, try to see if you have continuity through the contactor. I doubt the ground pulling off would cause the unit to not work... (But I would still fix it)
I spent $50 😅
Great!
Brass rings work great in mutli-gang boxes instead of using 2 wire nuts and doubling the grounds in the box.
Agreed! That is also a great way to do the grounds.... 😊
Anyone know what the small adjustable set screw below the trigger plunger does? Nothing in the manual.
Not off hand...
Nice vid ! Will these adapters work with higher voltage batteries ? (24 & 40) I use green sinus 😉 Power tools
It should work if there are adapters out there for them. I would stick with the same (within a volt or 2) voltage tools. That's why you can easily go from dewalt to ryobi to Milwaukee because they all work between 18 and 20 volts... I am not sure how that goes with the higher voltage tools. For example my Ego blower is 56 volts.. I haven't looked at other brands to see where they fall ...
Always a great job, Rudy. I've never liked electrical work, but you make it seem so accessible. I might put something together this weekend, just for the heck of it.
Thanks Meat! Electric is actually my favorite type of work. I used to work as an electronic tech for many years and I picked up electric very easy with that background... 😊
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel Yeah, I'm too dumb. I played with rocks and sticks as a kid.
@@themeat5053 Lol... Im not the sharpest tool in the shed either... 😂
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel Don't kid yourself
You my friend just saved me 100s of dollars. Although it took me several hours of troubleshooting, once I found you video I knew it was a high probability that this was my problem and I was right. Thanks for saving homeowners from having to call a technician for potentially small and easy fixes.
You are welcome! I'm so glad to have helped... Yes for a $15 dollar part the HVAC companies will charge $150 plus. It's understandable, but I like to save $$ whenever possible... 😊
Great vid, very helpful! Thanks! Question: my lamps are super old. There’s no gauge number on the cord. Should I just go with standard 18?
Maybe... If you have a pair of wire strippers that have different size gauges on there. You can strip off some of the insulation to get at the wire itself. See which one fits which hole on the wire strippers. Then you'll be able to tell what gauge wire it is. Some of those lamps have a pretty skinny tube that goes through and if your new wire is any bigger you'll have a really hard time trying to get it through there...
Awesome 👏 I have to replace an elbow on my pool system and it came right off it will be back in service in no time 👍
That's excellent! So glad to help... 😊
see i typed big hole like im talking 3x that size
Yes that's big!
Using bigger screws wont adjust the door hang any...but, taking the top pin out, putting shims between the strike side and the jamb, then bending the hinges and re-inserting the pin...dude did have his crescent wrench backwards
Ok thanks!
Just fixed mine yesterday!!! Only spent $50 for the part too. Thank you.
Nice! I seem to remember my motor was more than that... I want to say 70 or more.. But I can't remember. Glad you got it going... 😊
Why exactly is the seal the culprit?
HI, I don't have a scientific explanation! Whatever I said would just be a guess.... 😁😁
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel It's OK. I got it fixed. Thanks to your videos.:)
I think I can actually use this video. Thanks @TheHomeImprovmentChannel … the wire through the middle is icing on the cake.
TYSM! I'm glad to help...
Thanks for your tutorial. My new home came with a basic Broan Nu-tone 50 cfm using AC power. Unfortunately it doesnt move enough air and my bathroom stays humid for awhile. I'm wanting to upgrade to a Panasonic whisper series which uses DC. Would the wiring be the same or would I need anything additional to hookup?
If your fan has a light fixture built in.. (some have a nightlight too) then you'll need additional wires to allow those to come on separately. If you don't care about that then you can tie them together and they will come on together with the fan..
What are some other filling solutions for the small cable wire
Caulk is good. If you can match the caulk to the color of the siding that's even better. I don't like to use spray foam. It works well to make a seal but it turns pretty ugly after being in the weather for a few months. I suppose you can paint it and it'll help with that. Then of course the duct seal works well too...
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel is duck seal used for the inside of the home
@@msoles30 Yes you can. However I would read the label to make sure there aren't any warnings about that. I doubt it, but just a precaution.
so the GFCI is not a fix
Great! Thanks...
Thanks, looking for anchor . Best video i find .
Awesome! So glad to help... 😊
Thank you! This is my job for tomorrow!!
Excellent! Hope it goes easy for you... 😊
What if you can’t remove the trim and you have vinyl floating floors over concrete ?
I wouldn't put a screw through the bottom of the L- Bracket. I've done that over concrete and only just put screws into the side (As long as you're hitting wood)...
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel I have a trim piece inside where the jam is so I have to remove that trim and attached the bracket to directly or could I put It on the trim would that extra trim space cause them to not fit?
Without being able to see it, I don't know... Usually the inside of the jamb is about 4 1/2" wide of flat surface... It depends on the overall size (width from one side to the other) of the jamb with the trim still in there...
Just to be clear you were referencing the 240v at the contractor but you said to shut off all the power in the beginning. ???
Yes I always recommend shutting off the power before beginning a project because I don't know who's comfortable working with power and who's not... if that makes sense. However there are times that you have to turn the power back on to test stuff and that's where someone not comfortable shouldn't attempt to do that...
Ok! THANK YOU!!! I m on my second handle and it just dawned on me that there’s something inside the tank making it hard to flush. I think this is it!!!! Thank you!!!!

Every video had the exact same thing. This isn’t my problem and I can’t find a video that will help fix my problem.😢
Sorry to hear that... What's it doing?
Rudy, maybe you should have gotten a black and yellow nailer? Now that gun looked pretty darn clean when you first disassembled it. That's a testament to your fastidiousness in keeping your equipment maintained. Obviously this is not the first time you've broken this gun down. Even though I don't have a hitachi nailer, I watched this whole video. Your technique is excellent. The use of the map is brilliant. I've always believed that I could remember where everything came from and where it should go back; but, I never have. Thanks again, Rudy. You da man! Big thumbs up.
Thanks Meat! I really appreciate it. That nailer wound up sitting for probably the last 4 years until my brother needed his shed redone... that's when this skipping problem showed up! I wish I would have thought to take some B-Roll of that. It would have been a good clip with me getting ready to throw the whole thing in the woods! I was so frustrated I didn't think of "Video"!... 😂
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel I did one time, while building the chicken coop, hammer throw my compressor down the hill for quitting on me at the end of the job; so, I understand that feeling. As always, thanks for the great content and keep it up!

Nice video. Thank you!
Thank you very much and you're welcome... 😊
Thank you. I'm putting in a second switch in my basement this weekend.
That's great! I hope it goes smooth for you... 😊
Great video. I had also invested a ridiculous amount of time on this. MOSTLY things are now working, but I have an odd curve ball to throw at you Rudy. I have to turn the regular switch off twice to get one set of overhead lights to turn off. And it is consistent. If I turn them on (using either the Amazon 3-way dimmer or the regular 2-way switch) then I have to flip the 2-way twice to get them off. I had a 3-way switch (with common and the re-purposed traveler tied together - red then used as the traveler to the Amazon) and tried swapping it for a 2-way. Same thing. Very odd. Tolerable, but odd.... Any thoughts?
HI David... Very interesting problem. I thought mine did that a couple of times too. I just went to try it and it's not doing that. I don't think it has for a while or I would have probably took out the wifi switch and just put a regular switch back in there. If you've got it hooked up right, I'll bet it's a glitch in the wifi switch. Maybe try turning off the power to that circuit for a couple of minutes and try it again and see if the problem persists...
NVM. A defective Amazon dimmer.
Arrrrgh! That sounds right... 😊
Ty for this video, just fixed the power switch and it is working perfectly.
Excellent! SO glad to help... 😊
I ook mine apart and would turn it on to check what was spinning or not and inside of mine the clutch seems to fail to engage. It doesn't seem to be a matter of slipping belts. The white wheel that one of the belts goes around does not seem to engage
Hmmmm... Have you tried to remove the clutch and take it apart? I think I show that in the video when Im changing the belts out... They do sell a new clutch for around $40 that already has the new belts installed in it.... At least it was $40 a few months ago, I haven't checked recently.
Thank you!!
You're welcome!

@@TheHomeImprovementChannel it was indeed , thanks again!
My closet is a weird size. 42" W x 81 1/4" H. Do I have to buy a custom door size? Seems like Home Depot only carries 18x80 and 24x80.
HI... You can go that route, but if you're pretty handy you can buy (2) 24" doors and rip them to the proper size (Probably around 20 3/4"), taking even amounts off of each side. Yes you'll probably be into the hollow part of the door. Take a chisel to the part that you ripped off and get the outer skin of the door off of it so that you're just left with the wood that should now fit into your ripped door. Then you can use some good wood glue to glue the piece back in! I believe custom door sizes are quite a bit more than the standard size, but you might want to check and see what (2) 21" doors would cost before going through the trouble to compare the price difference.. If you don't have a table saw, then clamp something straight like a strip of plywood to the door to use as a fence to run your skil saw up against. I wouldn't use a 2x4 since they have a natural crown and you won't get a straight cut.
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel makes sense. ty!
YW!
Excellent. Well done step by step video. Loved the stacking portion. As an added tip for someone like me who had difficulty with the snap ring, please show the indentation on the rod just before you pull the spring and the washer. I couldn't see the indentation once everything was reassembled and ready for the snap ring placement. I was frustrated with the snap ring because I wasn't able to position the rod and ring correctly. My fault. I watched several other videos and no one showed the indentation on the rod. After spending time with the rod and ring not being able to snap it in place, I removed the inner parts, placed them in a stacking position and looked closely at the rod itself. Then I saw the indentation and within a couple of minutes had the snap ring secured to the rod. Again great video, great audio and step by step. Thank you
That's awesome! SO glad I was able to help. I got the stacking thing from a few automatic transmissions I've rebuilt in the past. When I take them apart I stack the parts like that to keep from getting confused!
Could a bad contactor keep blowing a fuse at the disconnect?
HI... It's doubtful. The best thing to do is isolate things from the circuit until the fuse stops blowing. For example if you suspect the contactor you can disconnect the output of it leaving the low voltage connected so it'll engage. If the fuse stops blowing you'll have to move on to the next thing. I would find out which wires are coming from the compressor and disconnect those and see if it's coming from that. Obviously if you're not comfortable working around electrical things then don't try it, but if you are, that would be my strategy..
